My children have waterproof mattress protectors on their bed but I don't think I need one. Why is it recommended?

We spend one third of our lives in bed so it is important that our sleep environment is healthy.  This ensures a better nights sleep and overall better well being.

Although we don’t like to talk about it we all know that mattresses and pillows can yellow over time.  Many of us think this is just a normal part of bedding, but it does not have to be and shouldn’t.  Those stains are often caused by our perspiration (the average person losing an average litre of water a night), shredded skin flakes (yuk) and everyday spills and stains that seep into our bedding.  Food for dust mites whilst also contributing to the growth of mould and bacteria.

A waterproof mattress protector, protects the mattress from these nasties and you and your  family from the resulting allergens.  They are therefore a must for a healthy sleep zone.

Protect-A-Bed® ’s range of Mattress and Pillow Protectors includes a waterproof Miracle Layer™. You won’t even know you have waterproofing on your bed.   Soft, comfortable and breathable it let’s air but not spills and stains through.

Available in a full range of sizes and a number of fabrics including TENCEL® which is sensitive skin tried and tested, endorsed by the Eczema Association.  Approved by the National Asthma council’s Sensitive Choice Program.
