Getting Started
- Gather all necessary cleaning supplies.
- Use three boxes to categorize items: trash, misplaced items, and donations.
- Dust Thoroughly: Start from one side of the room to the other, cleaning from top to bottom. Remove all items from dressers, dust, and return them.
- Wipe Down Walls: Remove any marks, testing cleaning solutions on a hidden spot to avoid damage.
- Windows and Furnishings: Clean windows with a water/vinegar solution and a microfiber cloth. Wash curtains and dust blinds.
- Floors: Vacuum and, if possible, move furniture to clean underneath. Mop hardwood floors and consider a professional carpet clean.
- Bedding: Strip and wash all bedding at over 55°C to kill dust mites. Use Protect-A-Bed® dust mite-resistant mattress protectors and pillow protectors.
- Wardrobe and Drawers: Declutter and decide what to keep based on use, fit, and condition. Donate or sell items you no longer need.
After cleaning, relax and enjoy the season, but remember to stay indoors during peak pollen times if you have pollen allergies. For more tips on managing springtime allergies, visit the National Asthma Council of Australia's Sensitive Choice Program.
